Beach Volleyball

We have courts established on Newcastle Beach and Nobby’s Beach. These courts are for public use and a ball is often left with the Life Guards, however it is based on honesty, so it is best if you take your own ball. Our official Beach Season kicks off with the start of daylight savings and generally Thursday afternoons cease by the end of March.  You will be able to find Newcastle Volleyball players on the Beach on Thursday afternoons from 5.30pm and on Sunday afternoons from 3.30pm.

As we are always keen for hit there's a chance you'll find us on a fine sunny Sunday afternoon outside the 'beach season', it's best for a quick call or text to confirm.

Call Mick on 0432 802 326 or Glen on 0438 249 412 for more details or just turn up - no fee.

News: Newcastle Volleyball 2014

Following our meeting last Tuesday 14 Jan;

INDOOR - Registrations for teams and individuals will be taken on Tuesday Night 28 January.
6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Tennis Club, Curley Rd, Broadmeadow. Forms available on F'Book page & here soon.

Registration Night #2 will be Tuesday February 4th 7pm to 9pm held at the Basketball Stadium.**

Our first 'season' will be a short 7 week comp. from Tues Feb 11 to 25 March. $100 - first place and Easter special for 2nd & 3rd
A Grade will play an 'Out of the Hat' round robin style competition.
Therefore all interested **A grade players must be registered by 8pm on Tues 4th Feb. when the "Out of the Hat" team draws will be done. Committee decision will be final on the team format if required. Any late entries will be allocated to any team that may be short of players.
Normal courts fees of $60 per team will apply.

B Grade - looking at a 25 min match format with teams playing 2 games & refereeing one (ie over 1.5 hrs).
This won't be the same as A grade and it will be based on the registered teams received by Feb 4th at 8:30pm. Court fees of $50 per team will apply for this short comp with no referee duty payment.

April will be the start of our 1st of 2 formal competitions for this year when we hope to regain the 6pm time slot which allow growth for the social competition. More on that to come.
Note: We do not have on line registrations but a membership form for down load will be available on this site & website by the end of the week.

There have also been further discussions about starting up 'Drop In' Volleyball on a Sunday afternoon about 5pm to 7pm in April/May for the Winter period.  We're hoping to offer something for the individual casual palyers and regular members who want to play more.  The idea is to run 30mins - 1hr training sessions and games for 1 - 2 hrs.

This will depend on demand of course and costs would be kept to a minimum for indiviuals.

Email - secretary@newcastlevolleyball.com.au  for feedback or to nominate your interest in playing.

You can also join us on our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/Newcastlevolleyball/  to provide feedback or keep up with the latest discussions.
